Tell the truth about where the house stands.
Good news does not need polishing, and difficult news does not improve with silence. The homeowner should hear it directly from the person responsible for the work.

Question the plan before it gets built.
Circulation, proportion, and daily use should be resolved while a line on paper can still move. Judgment matters most before change becomes expensive.

Get the answer.
When the answer is not obvious, define the problem accurately and bring in the right expertise. An informed answer is worth more than a confident guess.
