Custom Home Builder and Renovations / Dallas and the DFW Metroplex

You should never have to ask how your house is going.

Custom homes and full renovations in Dallas and across the DFW Metroplex. The person building your house is the person you talk to.

The difference

You will always know where the house stands.

What happened this week. What is next. What it cost. What you need to decide, and by when.

There is no layer between the person making those decisions and the person telling you about them. It is the same person.

Custom Homes

A custom home in Dallas is a long sequence of decisions, and most of them are made before anything is built. The plan, the budget, and the field stay connected here because one person is holding all three. Start a custom home conversation

Renovations

Start with why the existing house is not working. Then decide what gets opened, moved, kept, or removed. Square footage and finishes come after that, not before. Start a renovation conversation

New Construction / Dallas

A limited palette, chosen early and not revisited. Four decisions carry this house. Everything around them was kept quiet so they could.

7.5 inch wide plank European oak in Harvest Gold runs continuously through the main floor, which is what keeps the rooms reading as one house instead of a sequence of spaces. The kitchen backsplash is real marble rather than a substitute, because it is the surface people stand closest to.

The fireplace surround is a book matched porcelain slab, so the veining resolves as one pattern instead of a seam. The vent hood is wrapped in bronze Venetian plaster.

An 8 by 5 iron pivot entry sets the scale before you see anything else.

A house, not a collection of moments.

The rooms were not treated as separate design exercises. Each choice supports what came before it, and repetition was used only where continuity needed the help.

Whole Home Renovation / Dallas

Fix the way the house lives before choosing what it wears.

This renovation began with circulation, connection, and the daily use of the rooms, not a finish schedule.

Plan before palette.

The work opened a compartmentalized core, rebuilt the kitchen around entertaining, introduced glass enclosed rooms while keeping the sightlines intact, and made covered outdoor living part of the house instead of an afterthought.

Selected Residence / Dallas

Open where it helps. Closed where it matters.

A continuous entertaining core connects the great room, kitchen, glass wine room, and courtyard. The primary suite, game room, and cinema stay enclosed, because openness only works when the enclosure around it was also a decision.

Process

How the work actually runs.

  1. 01

    Find the answer

No one knows every part of a house. Structure, drainage, survey, the plan itself. When the answer is not obvious, the problem gets defined clearly and the right expertise gets brought in. Early, not at framing.

  2. 02

    Question the plan

Circulation, proportion, and daily use get resolved before approving anything expensive to change.

  3. 03

    Direct the spend

Resources go into the decisions that carry the house. A long list of expensive finishes is not the same as a well built home.

  4. 04

    Own the outcome

Stay close to the details, communicate directly, and leave no ambiguity about what happens next.

Founder / Mark Dorsey

Mark does not guess.

What people rely on is not that he has every answer. It is that he defines the problem clearly, finds who does have the answer, and comes back with it. On a house, that is most of the job.

He drove a cement mixer in 2016. He builds custom homes in Dallas now. Everything in between was learned by doing it, including the parts that went wrong.

The operating instinct

The work, not a persona, should do the convincing.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mark grew up watching his late mother build Bright Horizons Home Healthcare Agency from nothing. She founded it in 1997 and it is still operating today. Businesses do not last that long when the owner hands off the parts that matter.

Clear direction. Direct communication. Personal ownership.
